DIY "Built-In" Bookshelves

This post has been a long time coming. I just knew it was going to be massive, so I kept putting it off. Oops.

Just a warning, this post is extremely picture heavy.

When Tyler and I started dating, he showed me his massive book collection (lots of graphic novels, mostly), and mentioned how much he would love to have built in book cases big enough to hold them all one day.

Mini Update (Bonus!)

New Light Fixtures/Laundry Room

I'm a terrible blogger. So sorry, life got busy and the blog fell to the wayside. But! I do have an update on the laundry room to make up for it! It's not done, but it's getting there!

Just for old time's sake, here's where we left off..

Definitely an improvement on where it started. But I've done a lot of work in here over the past couple of months! 

Laundry Room Upgrade!

I'm one of those people that fought Pinterest with all my heart and soul for the longest time... And eventually succumbed to its glory. Seriously, Pinterest is dangerous. It makes me say things like "I want to hang an antique chandelier in the laundry room." Where does that even come from?!



I really do though...

Anyway...

Painting Fireplace Mantle

One of my first posts was showing how I whitewashed our brick fireplace. However, I didn't paint the mantle at that time because I wasn't sure if I wanted it white or not. After living with it for a few months, I decided I wanted to paint that white too. So now, here is phase 2 of our fireplace makeover!

Phase 3 involves getting rid of the insert.. but I'm nervous about trying to move that, so it's staying for now.

Hoosier Cabinet Makeover

Tadaaa!!

I'm so glad to be able to put this post up. This ol' beauty is where I keep all my fabric and other sewing notions (at least, the ones that don't go in the desk). And it's got a history to go with. This cabinet was my great grandmother's (possibly my great-great as well, but I know great for certain). My mom said she remembers her grandmother rolling out biscuits on this thing. How awesome is that?!
